Coldish Coldplay; A Haiku

coldplay melodies
friends and confetti falling
like leaves dying now
thank you, thank you... My ode to blogs everywhere.  Was in atlanta last week seeing my granny and the leaves were outrageous in color everywhere.  Makes me miss the east coast so much.  meanwhile it's 85 in LA and fires are raging and my lungs are filled with smoke... ugh.  so fun to see friends and the concert was fantastic.  It was my 3rd time seeing Coldplay and they never disappoint.  Thanks Bum for the extra ticket!  My granny was in rare form as usual.  87 and still out and about in her car, Netflixing and internetting and lunching (thanks again for buying Grams).  We saw a movie, watched The View, she made some muffins.  all the good grandma stuff.

Judays in Atlanta!

I got to see Jeff and Claci when I was in Atlanta visiting and luckily Jeff was still performing in his musical "Five Course Love", which I went to with my family.  Claci is almost due by now and none of us can wait to meet their little girl!

Im not going to lie... I ate a lot of fried green tomatoes before the show and challenged Claci to a stomach contest.  Pretty sure I won.

Mom's Birthday

I threw my mom a surprise birthday party in Atlanta last month.  She was shocked and we are still talking about how much fun the party was!

The cake had her picture on it...

And we had so much of it we took it over to my Granny (who was in rehab for a broken hip and couldn't make the party) the next day.  Yes, that frosting is as good as it looks.
Even my best Atlantan pal Rebecca came with her husband Sebastian (of Sundance fame).
Mom got all of the candles in almost one breath- how's that for being in shape??
Me and mom and dad... laughing at god knows what!  Such a great party and for such a deserving awesome lady!

Atlanta Friends take over LA!

They arrived by plane.  The packed for style.  They hit the hotspots and took no prisoners!  They are Rebecca, Ryan, Missy and Janet Ann.  And of course the LA transplant Rochelle!  A fun time was had by all reminicing on our high school days, eating some delicious meals, toasting a wine glass or two and dancing the night away! It's hard to believe 3 of these gals are mommies already. They bravely left their little ones in the capable hands (?) of their husbands and enjoyed a night out for dinner Il Sole and afterwards at Les Deux.  Hot tub after hours ensued with much chatting and laughing into the wee hours.
We had a blast touring Disney Studios the next morning and having a delicious lunch in the Rotunda thanks to Andy Fickman.  Not to mention a personal phone call from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself... after which there were a few blushing faces in the room... (or was I the only one? :)  Love you gals!!  Can't wait for the next time!!
